Binzer was the frontman of the rap-rock band and known for the hit single "Butterfly."

Seth Binzer, the lead singer of the early 2000s rap-rock band Crazy Town, has died at the age of 49, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's office confirmed to Variety. No cause of death has been released yet.

Binzer, who went by the stage name Shifty Shellshock, was born in Los Angeles on August 23, 1974. He co-founded Crazy Town in 1995 with Bret Mazur (Epic Mazur) and DJ AM (Adam Goldstein). The band's debut album, The Gift of Game, was released in 1999 and went triple-platinum thanks to the success of the hit single "Butterfly."

Crazy Town released two more albums, Darkhorse in 2002 and Crazy Town in 2005, before going on hiatus in 2003. The band reunited in 2017 and toured sporadically in recent years.

Binzer was also a solo artist and released his debut album, Happy Love Sick, in 2004.
