Amy Jones Embraces Ashes Distraction After Personal Tragedy
Former Idols SA Finalist Marries
South African music sensation and former Idols SA finalist Amy Jones has tied the knot. Jones married her long-time partner, Ben Jones, in a private ceremony on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
Jones, who rose to fame after placing second in the 11th season of Idols SA, shared the news of her marriage on social media. "I'm so happy to announce that I married the love of my life," she wrote. "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him."
The wedding comes just months after Jones revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage. In an emotional Instagram post, Jones shared that she had lost her baby at 10 weeks gestation. "It's been a difficult few months, but I'm so grateful to have Ben by my side," she wrote.
Jones Embraces Ashes Distraction
Jones is currently in Australia with the England women's cricket team, who are preparing for the Ashes series against Australia. Jones is an integral part of the England team and is the first-choice wicketkeeper for England in all formats.
Jones has said that she is using the Ashes series as a distraction from her personal tragedy. "It's been tough, but I'm trying to stay focused on my cricket," she said. "The Ashes is a huge series, and I'm determined to help England win it."
The first Ashes Test match will be played in Perth on January 26, 2023.
